Sedan or Saloon car is a design standard in luxury and executive car design. A Sedan is built in a typical 3 box luxury car design. The 3 box design refers to the special standard that includes the engine, passenger and cargo space in a car. The car’s design usually consist of an engine in the front, passenger seating area in the middle and the car’s extended cargo area in the rear. The 159 sedan was designed by the famous Giorgetto Giugiaro and was based on the experimental E-segment platform originally designed for the Alfa Romeo 166.
