The upcoming sports utility vehicle by Alfa Romeo is named the Alfa Romeo C-SUV. The production of the vehicle is expected to start in 2015 and the SUV is among the most awaited cars making Alfa Romeo’s return to the US markets. The platform used for the SUV is a modified and extended version of the Fiat Compact platform used for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. The C-SUV is aimed at targeting the customers of the Audi Q5 and the BMW X3. The C-SUV is said to be developed alongside the upcoming model of the Jeep SUV under Fiat’s Compact plus Global Modular Architecture project.
There are 4 different engine variants that have been confirmed for the Alfa Romeo C-SUV so far. The 1.75 liter Turbocharged GDI engine, the 2 liter JTD engine, 3.3 liters gasoline V6 and the 3 liters V6 diesel are said to be featured in the upcoming car. The Alfa Romeo C-SUV is said to be the next big thing by Alfa Romeo and is supposed to ensure their comeback in the US markets. The SUV will be produced at the Mirafiori Factory at Torino and is a part of the JEEP (Chrysler) and Alfa Romeo collaboration project under the FIAT S.p.A brand name.
