The concept car was unveiled in 2010, at the 80th anniversary of the Italian design company Pininfarina and the 100 years of Alfa Romeo. The car basically, a next generation model of the famous Alfa Romeo Spider as envisioned by Pininfarina. The car represents the bond between the two firms since ages. The Alfa Romeo 2uettottanta pays homage to the Alfa Romeo Duetto, a spider roadster from the 60’s. The concept version of this spider also won the Car Design of the year in 2010.
Design and Features
The Alfa Romeo 2uettottanta features a 1750 CC Turbo Straight-4 engine with a front engine rear wheel drive layout. The design of the car is highly inspired by the 60’s Duetto Spider with a modern Alfa Romeo grille. The car was painted in bright metallic red with a signature Alfa Romeo paintwork.
The car features the Alfa DNA enabled chassis that enables considerably better handling of the car. The car features sleek and elegant looking LED headlamps. The car was 179.9 cm in height; 421.26 cm in width and a ground clearance of 12.80 cm. Carbo-ceramic brakes were also featured on this car along with the signature 3 spoke wheels and 5-circle Alfa Romeo rims. The Automatic Dual-Clutch gearbox and the smooth and aerodynamic design made it a true modern day successor to the Alfa Romeo Duetto spider. Image Credits @ AlBargan
