Not to be confused with the classic 60’s and 70’s Giulia; the new Alfa Romeo Giulia is an upcoming compact executive car that is considered to be a successor of the Alfa Romeo 159. The Giulia is said to be released in both Sedan and Sportwagon variants and might also include a new petrol engine which will replace the Alfa Romeo V6. There is however no details about the platform the Giulia will be built on till further developments in the car’s production. The car is said to compete with its rivals, the BMW 3 Series and the Jaguar XE and is considered to be the first commercial model under the new Alfa Romeo revival plan. The 1.4 liter turbo unit featured in the Giulietta is said to make a comeback in the Giulia as well.
The initial design of the car seems to be inspired partially from the Giulietta which was released back in 2010. The Giulia features swept back LED headlamps, a new take on the signature Alfa Romeo Grille and combines sleek with simplicity. The Giulia is also expected to include an active Roll control system which improves a vehicles handling significantly. The DNA system introduced with the MiTo in 2008 is also said to be featured on this future release.
